Chick Flick

The new brand of literature thats coming thru -Chick Flick. I tried a book in this genre- You R Here by Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan. The book is about this girl called Arshi -u know one of those regular girls....in Delhi and a general look into her life and so on. The book is ok... i mean u can identify with this girl..as to well...the crushes that u had when u werew 11 and 12..and the general insecurities that u have about urself....wanting ur folks 2 b like others....and so on. What i really liked about this book is that this girl is a regular girl....not some really nice..super genius ..everyone likes her kinda girl..Just a regular...sometimes nice...most of the times mean...mostly air headed kind. What i found disturbing and indeed a revelation .....was how soooo matter of fact a relationship has become. I still am conservative enough to feel that random experiments in sex is reaalllly NOT that cool and binge parties are definitely to be avoided. However ..the book as such is a pretty good read and it does take u on a nostalgic trip(u know ...all that talk about school and stuff)

All about RATS!!!

I ve always thought of rats as tiny cute little creatures ... u no ... Jerry like ones that look soo...awwwww...thats sooo sweet ...type. when i was younger i ve even thought ans thought as to how a lil mouse or rat would look in a doll house that ive had... with a lil bed and a small patchwork quilt and all.... that was before i met the mercenary little......well lets just say RAT!!!!I mean i actaully lost sleep over this nasty little rodent...which just wouldnt leave us alone .... every night it was the same...We tried everything....traps.... rat poison ....and loads of stuff. U would think that we caught the .....RAT...wouldnt u .... nope...no such luck ...well ...we re stil trying....My sympathies with u Tom......

I ve been reading Sophie Kinsella and I must say I am totally hooked. She is the latest best selling author and she has written the Shopaholic series …. and these books are really good. Its about this girl …Becky who is a confirmed Shopaholic and she shops just about anything. She is a financial journalist and an airhead. I absolutely relate with her .. I mean iam soooo like her..(Not the airhead part ok?). Iam not a shopaholic of course…not that part either but I really do get this tingly kind of feeling when I enter a shop…. I love book stores and stationery stores in particular. Ooooh I left out shopping for shoes…I just love that … u know trying on stuff …hey bags … they are the absolute greatest man… ooooh make up… okkk….maybe iam a teeny weenity bit enthusiastic about shopping but then who isn’t ?:)

Tvadiyum Vastu Govind Tubhyameva Samarpyate

Ever since I read a book on Krishna , this one line has been haunting me ...it means-I offer to Govind all that he has given me-.... This book is about the women that Krishna was closest to. It talks about how much faith and ..love they had in their hearts for Krishna.How much they believed that He made everything happen around them ..... Who are these women....Radha....who was His childhood sweetheart...whom he left never to return. Rukmani .....who had to share Her Husband with the rest of the 16,107 queens......Draupadi ..who loved Krishna till the end but was destined only to be his best friend.... Sathyabama....the young fiery queen who wanted her Husband to think of none else....Each and every one of these women had their dissappointments and heartaches ...but all of them ...all of them submitted their soul to Him.
Food for thought ...me thinks.

Euuuughhhh!!!!Dentists!!!

What is it about Dentists that makes ur insides churn. It could be the smell of POP, the nasty smelling disinfectant /antiseptic-whatever, or maybe its just the expressions on the faces of the waiting patients- ranging from terrified, petrified-u know that glassy stare to looking just plain sick. The thought of opening ur mouth wide with a metal clanging against ur teeth is just not my idea of healthy treatment at ll...I mean , there u are ... mouth wide open, eyes open and there s this guy who is tearing ur jaws apart with those awful looking "jaw openers"..and peeking inside ur thraot and tutrting all the while... Why dentists must insist on speaking to u like u r an imbecile is something beyond my comprehension" Tut tut... we havent been flossing regularly" and u r expected to answer...answer???? plsssss..." gargleee....gargleeee" and he nods wisely. I ve always wanted to spring one on him ...pull the clamp from my mouth and ask...OK...so what exactly did i say.
The last time i went to get my braces tightened... excuse me...tightened??...more like a death grip on my teeth.I had this maniac pulling out the bracket ...hammering...against my teeth(or maybe that was my heart)..i mean there is only so much u can take....
So u scream...and this ...Person...shakes his head and pats...yes...PATS me on the head... and says...aaawww...does that hurt????I mean...where did this guy come from i wonder

My Thoughts

I was driving thru Adyar the other day and I was struck suddenly by how competent and efficient an Indian woman is. She comes across as a normal woman. She cooks for her family, takes the children to school , gets breakfast, lunch and evening snacks ready for those stay-at -home in laws,goes to yoga classes, music lessons, takes the kids to all those classes that must be attended to, whizzes around teh city on her motor scooter, gets back home, cooks for the night, gets the children to do their hw, then dinner and bed ...WOW!!! SuperMOM!!!! Food for thought...Are we appreciating these wonderful specimens enough???
